Every state has at least one bonded winery; now you may wonder why. Greg Kempel of Maple River Winery claims his wine, made from the native fruits of North Dakota is “second to none in the world." Certainly, I can’t name a better apple/jalapeno or carrot wine. Not to mention their dandelion bottling which tastes, reports Kempel, like “a cross between chardonnay and corn on the cob.”
