Wining and dining has always been an indispensable step in courtship. Now a group of London mathematicians has built a formula to prove it works. The study deems dinner with wine the most effective mating strategy. It’s also superior to, say, jewelry, since if the girl turns down dinner, the guy’s not out any money. Without studies like these we might not have new baby mathematicians.

Buckle Down Papsakke
Trying to curb alcohol abuse, South Africa outlaws Papsakke, low-grade wine in foil bags. Some 48 million litres of wine is sold in 'papsakke' locally, some 17% of the domestic market. Seems the country has long equated packaging with social breakdown. The Trade Metrology Act of 1973 already prohibits the use of containers that do not retain their shape when empty.
